The installation of the Honda shifter involves replacing the original selector with the one provided in the quickshifter kit, connecting the supplied plug, and activating it via the dashboard menu. Both during upshifts and downshifts, the shifter will detect any force applied to the selector and cut the ignition for a few milliseconds, allowing for gear changes without clutching. 

The cut duration is longer at low RPM than at high RPM, in order to preserve the gearbox as much as possible.
